3 Questions to Ask Yourself About Self-Discovery (That Could Change Everything)

Prime Time Journey

Hi, Reader,

Welcome to this week’s edition of Prime Time Journey! Let's make the rest of our lives the best of our lives, starting now.

When we are in midlife and beyond, we begin to wonder who we are now that the kids are raised or now that we're divorced or now that we're burnt out of a particular career. That's when self-discovery comes into play. A journey to self-discovery can be a powerful tool. But if can also come with roadblocks.

If you’ve been feeling stuck when it comes to self-discovery, you’re not alone. Sometimes, the answers we’re searching for aren’t about doing more—they’re about asking better questions. The right questions force us to think differently, challenge our assumptions, and unlock new solutions we never considered. So if you’re struggling with self-discovery, take a moment to pause and ask yourself these three powerful questions:

1️⃣ What's Something I've Always Wanted to Try but Never Did?

Identify What’s Really Holding You Back

Most people assume they lack time or resources when it comes to trying new things, but what if that’s not the issue at all? Take a step back and ask yourself: “What's holding me back from pursuing what truly excites me?” You might realize that self-doubt or fear of judgment is the true obstacle, which means the solution isn’t about finding more time—it’s about gaining confidence and courage. ✅ What to do next: Start by taking one small step toward an interest or hobby you've always been curious about to see if it changes how you approach self-discovery.

2️⃣ Is There a "Should" That's Allowing Me to Limit My Choices?

Challenge the “Normal” Way of Doing Things

A lot of times, we follow societal expectations simply because it’s what everyone else does. But that doesn’t mean it’s the best way for you. Instead, ask yourself: “Is this really what I want, or just what I think I should want?” This one shift can help you break free from unfulfilling routines and open the door to a more authentic way of living. ✅ What to do next: Consider exploring paths that truly resonate with you and see if they align better with your goals.

3️⃣ What Small Changes Can I Make Right Now to Reflect What Truly Matters to Me?

Focus on What Actually Moves the Needle

We spend so much time worrying about daily obligations when, in reality, it’s small, intentional changes that actually make the difference. To refocus, ask yourself: “What daily actions align with my deeper values and aspirations?” Chances are, you already know what you need to do—you just haven’t given yourself permission to fully commit to it yet. ✅ What to do next: Prioritize activities and decisions that align with what truly matters to you over routine tasks and see how fast things start to shift.

Your Next Step: Take Action on Your Answers
Breakthroughs don’t come from knowing the answers—they come from acting on them.

That's it for now! Thank you for joining us this week. Keep dreaming big, acting boldly, and celebrating you!
